Job Summary/Objective:

The Construction Logistics and Procurement Project manager is responsible for handling all aspects of the construction scope from lintel pour through house completion and closing. The Construction Logistics and procurement Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. A successful Project Manager should be able to promptly resolve distribution/vendor issues and have strong negotiation skills, as well as increase the participation and commitment of new vendors and contractors with the goal of increasing productivity and efficiency. As a leader, the Project Manager must ensure the creation of a positive, professional environment that fosters strong team member engagement and participation while supporting the Department’s strategies/initiatives.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Scheduling & Procurement: 

· Oversees all construction operations, including scheduling, and collaborates with the Director of Warehouse Operations to control and distribute inventory

· Analyzes and optimizes logistical procedures by developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized

· Responsible for material ordering

· Responsible for material scheduling and coordinating delivery to the sites in a timely manner, within schedule and budget

· Ensures the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments

· Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and retailers

· Addresses and resolves shipment and inventory issues

· Review, prepare, and route purchase orders and bids

· Coordinates sub-contractor scheduling

· Assist the Chief Construction Officer with Procurement compliance and procurement negotiations

· Monitor project progress weekly or when necessary, and handle any issues that arise in collaboration with Office and field staff

· Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy, and that all documentation, including bids, RFI’s, and RFPs are on file

· Reports weekly progress to members of the Construction Department

· Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project

· Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements

· Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations

· Management: 

· Oversees performance of project material delivery and contractor’s schedules

· Works with VP of Construction to set up quality control procedures

· Formulates and maintains site logistics plans in coordination with Site Supervisors and Managers

· Assists with departmental meetings

· Facilitate communication and coordinate activities among all three functions of the Construction Department

· Other responsibilities:

· Possess the capability of reading blueprints

· Attends and participates in required HfHTBG meetings

· Assists in preparations for special events, storm, and disaster plans if implemented

Education, Experience and Attributes

  • Education: High School Equivalent, Associates Degree preferred.
  • Certification & Licensure Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record  with reliable transportation.
  • Pre-Requisite Requirements: Ability to pass Criminal Background Check, Drug Screening and Sexual Offender Check.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to effectively present      information and respond to questions from customers, donors, volunteers and the general public. Ability to speak English fluently and possess English written skills - Bi-lingual not required, definitely a plus. 
  • Math Ability:      Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, and percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer/Equipment Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and all PROCORE training necessary to perform all logistics and procurement responsibilities      successfully.

Salary Description
60,000-65,000
