Description
Vistra has an immediate opening for a Research Analyst to support Department of Defense clients. The Research Analyst will investigate, analyze, and evaluate policies, programs, and procedures that relate to prevention of harmful behaviors in the military. This position applies understanding of social science disciplines, research methodology, and statistics to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature reviews, assess research quality, and synthesize findings and recommendations.
- Support social science, public health, and workplace climate research efforts (e.g., program evaluation, organizational climate surveys, etc.).
- Interpret statistical findings and present data and research results to non-technical audiences.
- Utilize statistical software and data visualization tools to identify trends and patterns.
- Provide recommendations to improve program outcomes based on data analysis, including quantitative and qualitative data.
- Present research findings to stakeholders through meetings and presentations.
- Write detailed reports, briefs, and research papers for a variety of stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectations.
- Maintain an understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
- Up to 25% travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health, or related social science field and 3+ years directly related experience; Doctoral degree (complete or ABD) in public health, sociology, epidemiology, or a related social science field preferred.
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion policies and programs.
- Familiarity and experience conducting literature reviews and assessing research methods, findings, outcomes, and recommendations.
- Strong knowledge of public health concepts and behavior theory, preferably in a military setting.
- Must have a Secret clearance.
