We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join our KSS team in Maysville, GA.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The controls engineer will be responsible for electrical designing, responsibilities include- 

  • equipment layout drawings
  • wiring schematics
  • cable & conduit layouts
  • cable schedules
  • generating motor control center (MCC) specifications
  • lighting designs
  • interfacing with the various pieces of software, Implementation of designed systems, In house system setup & testing, Programming: PLC, HMI & software integration
  • PLC’s: Rockwell Automation’s MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix
  • HMI’s: Rockwell Automation’s RSView Studio
  • Customer-site startup
  • Phone support for existing systems by KSS and others
  • Work with the project managers to ensure proper equipment is procured
  • Work with the sales department in developing technical specifications for proposed quotations
  • Support the panel fabrication department in the fabrication of all electrical panels and enclosures
  • Lead efforts to optimize electrical designs
  • Lead efforts to stay abreast of current technologies
  • Overnight travel – domestic and international, occasional extended stays
  • Any other work related duties as assigned by management

Required Skills/Abilities

  • 5 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Material handling automation experience
  • Industrial/Commercial Weighing Experience


Education and Experience

  • BS Electrical Engineering

Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to physically perform repairs.
  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Good vision to inspect repair work.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
