Position Summary


The Clinic Manager I is responsible for the overall clinic functions to ensure the efficient and effective operations of one clinic with up to 4 provider FTEs. Promotes positive patient interactions, quality clinical services, positive staff relations, fiscal responsibility, and effective patient care. Responsibilities include: supervising front and back-office staff, monitoring the delivery of patient services, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and Maintain Daily Operations
  • Serve as the first line contact for facilities and logistical resource management and information
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and organization skills, leadership and appropriate role modeling for all staff.
  • Organize clinic operations and procedures and ensure employee compliance with policies and procedures
  • Responsible for overall success of the facility on a day-to-day basis
  • Create and oversee personnel schedule for all clinic staff
  • Collaborates with other clinic managers to ensure adequate coverage through sharing of staff as needed
  • Provides annual performance reviews to all direct report staff
  • Supervise and perform, as needed, day to day functions of the clinic staff
  • Oversee laboratory operations and the updating of lab supplies, equipment and logs.
  • Ensures adequate inventory of clinic supplies
  • Participates in hiring, mentoring and holding staff accountable for all direct report staff
  • Ensures Medical Records are maintained in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures teams are completing work in accordance with timeliness expectations as outlined in policies/procedures
  • Communication
  • Coordinates new/ongoing employee training and onboarding to meet or exceed job requirements.
  • Performs all functions and responsibilities in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner, in accordance with the philosophy and standards of the organization with emphasis on the mission of patient-centered care
  • Communicates clearly and concisely all relevant information necessary for quality patient care.
  • Cross trains with other support staff to assist as needed in providing routine patient care and ensuring clinic efficiency.
  • Routinely meets with staff members individually for check-ins.
  • Communicates equipment or supplies needs in a timely manner to ensure minimal interruption in patient experience and clinical operations.
  • Prepares for and conducts monthly staff breakout sessions in collaboration with other clinic managers
  • Clinical Responsibility
  • Assist all supporting clinical staff with key responsibilities and performance standards as needed.
  • Ensure support staff is trained to assist as needed in providing patient care.
  • Foster an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among all staff
  • Validate competencies of clinical team members
  • Front Office
  • Ensure all front desk personnel are properly documenting patient insurance and migrant (if appropriate) status by utilizing the eligibility solutions prior to and during appointments
  • Foster an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among all staff
  • Ensure all front desk personnel are performing household assessments according to policy and procedures including but not limited to sliding fee policy and new patient and annual paperwork
  • Ensure sliding fee and paperwork is updated and entered correctly for all HCHC patients
  • Ensure copays are being collected


Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adjust work efforts accordingly
  • Comfortable and effective in a fast-paced, accountability-focused and mission-driven organization
  • Commitment to the mission of Healthy Community Health Centers
  • Adaptable to meet patient/community needs
  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate care
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word and Excel

Education and Experience

  • LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with at least two years clinical experience
  • Previous management experience in medical practice preferred
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience in medical field
  • BLS CPR Certified
  • The ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Hearing must be adequate to perform the essential functions of the job, such as ability to hear soft voices.
  • This is a moderately active role, which requires the ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds, bending, squatting, sitting and standing as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies and other work site materials based on position duty requirements.
  • Travel may be required to any of our locations.
