G&H|GS Optics We is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support and qualifying in-process production parts for manufacturing, ensuring adherence to test protocols and procedures. You will collaborate closely with production process technicians to maintain consistent and acceptable yields and work toward continuous improvement across production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and qualification of in-process production parts for manufacturing following established test protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with production process technicians to initiate and maintain a process for producing parts with consistent and acceptable yields.
- Perform Process Compliance Audits to ensure conformance to company procedures.
- Support production areas based on documented work instructions by:
- Performing dimensional measurements using manual/hand gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Operating computer-controlled gauges (Mitutoyo touch CMM, Zeiss scanning CMM, OGP multisensory CMM, Zeiss profilometer).
- Conducting optical non-contact inspection using interferometer and optical bench metrology methods.
- Performing visual inspections of optical parts per MIL PRF-13830B to identify non-conformance according to documented parameters.
- Notifying production personnel of inspection results and identifying non-conformance.
- Identifying and reporting systematic and preventable non-conformance occurrences to maximize yields.
- Performing final inspections both in-process (where applicable) and as a standalone operation.
- Reject defective products and document through the Discrepant Material Report (DMR) process.
- Document inspection results electronically into Excel-based inspection files.
- Summarize daily activities and inspection status through email or daily journal.
- Apply flash coating to sample parts using a vacuum coating chamber.
- Work with production to actively identify and act on continuous improvement opportunities, suggesting machine and process changes as needed.
- Fulfill all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and legal manner while promoting continuous improvement.

Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Associate's degree in a technical discipline preferred.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented work instructions.
- Ability to operate manual and computer-controlled inspection equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to document inspection results clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
