Description
Miracles In Sight is seeking a part time per diem Surgical Recovery Specialist in Lubbock, TX to assist with the ocular tissue procurement program.
As champions for restoring sight, Surgical Recovery Specialists are mission focused and serve the community through their work in the recovery and preservation of human tissue for transplantation.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Travels to donor location to perform functions of Surgical Recovery Specialist
- Aseptically performs surgical recovery procedure of ocular tissue from deceased donors
- Obtains and reviews donor medical records and performs physical assessment of donor to determine donor eligibility
- Obtains and qualifies blood samples for testing
- Completes required donor recovery documentation
Requirements
- Must be able to work in hospitals, ME/Coroner’s offices, and funeral homes
- Possess basic medical knowledge
- Maintain reliable transportation and driver's license
- Ability to work flexible, on-call schedule. Nights, weekends, & holidays
- Demonstrate professional behavior
- Possess appropriate dexterity to use surgical instruments
- Be a self-starter and ability to work autonomously
