Thysse is seeking a quality minded machine operator who is willing to learn a new trade and become a Bindery Operator Trainee. Position Summary:

This position is responsible for operating bindery equipment to execute customer projects with excellence. They will also be responsible for assisting with custom-finishing operations where needed.


2nd shift: Monday – Thursday, 3pm – 1am

2nd shift differential: 15% shift differential


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and run Bindery equipment to produce quality results.
  • Complete work in a timely manner as defined by production schedules.
  • Understand requirements and ensure finished work effectively drives down stream processes.
  • Accountability for the quality of worked produced.
  • Recognize errors quickly and ensure completed work meets our quality standards.
  • Assist with hand-finishing projects as needed.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High school or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years of Bindery and Graphics Arts experience in the print industry a plus.
  • Trainee: Mechanically included and operated machines/equipment before.
  • Additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other, as determined by Human Resources.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess manual dexterity and is mechanically inclined with ability to trouble shoot.
  • Strong, efficient work ethic that can thrive in a high stress, fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Follow through with responsibilities while following safety rules, processes and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload and make adjustment to meet business needs
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Possesses basic arithmetic skills and ability to read a ruler.
  • Possesses basic computer/data entry skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend work as necessary.
