Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that the food is of high quality, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent culinary skills, integrity and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts
  • Ensure that all food is of high quality and meets our standards
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and report any issues to management
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure that all orders are prepared and served in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Requirements
  •  Proven experience as a Cook
  • Able to read and write English (ESL)
  • Excellent culinary skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow recipes and cooking techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to Learn and accept constructive feedback
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
  • Assist in training staff in the operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.

 Education & Experience

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State requirements)
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the kitchen including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Working Conditions: The Cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing for extended periods of time and working with hot equipment and sharp knives, in hot and cold environments. The position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Salary: The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
