Florida Physician Specialists has an immediate opening for 2 Medical Lab Assistanst in our McIver Clinic division, located on Lomax Street in Jacksonville, FL.

Ideal candidates for this position will have:

• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• 1 – 2 years’ experience working in a lab

Essential Job Functions:

• Process and report urine cultures
• Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
• Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
• Maintain patient confidentiality and strict HIPAA compliance

Core Responsibilities:

• Sample Preparation: Preparing and handling samples for testing. 
• Equipment  Maintenance: Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining laboratory equipment, glassware, and work areas. 
• Inventory Management: Maintaining and organizing laboratory supplies and materials. 
• General Lab Support: Performing routine tasks such as answering phones, assisting with administrative duties, and organizing the lab space. 
• other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma required
• AS or BS in medical lab technology
• Previous experience working in a lab
