JOB SUMMARY

We have exciting opportunities for a part-time position at our Sun Prairie St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Thrift Store. As a key member of our team, these employees will play a crucial role in delivering excellent service to our customers, donors, and clients. Responsibilities include cashiering, restocking merchandise, and processing donations. Work hours are flexible and subject to business needs.


Starting wage of $16.74 hourly with an increase to $17.25 after 6 months of employment.


25% employee discount after 30 days!

Up to 28 hours per week, shifts will vary according to business need.


Shifts will correspond with open store hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-7:30pm and Sunday 9am-5:30pm.

Weekend availability is required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cashiering duties: operate cash register and process transactions accurately, assist customers with purchases and vouchers, educate customers on VIP and monthly Round-Up program
  • Provide customer and donor assistance throughout the store: answer questions, anticipate customer needs, offer help and encourage sales
  • Restock merchandise on sales floor and price items as needed, pull and sort product in accordance with company guidelines and safety protocols
  • Assist on donation dock receiving and processing donations based on the SVdP Take/Don Not Take guidelines, loading items onto a semi-trailer or into stock room as appropriate
  • Help maintain cleanliness of store, perform cleaning duties on a rotating assignment list
  • Support the effort to create a more inclusive and equitable organization
  • Adhere to the Safeguarding Policy by ensuring timely completion of mandatory training, staying updated on relevant training modules.
  • Daily assignments will rotate based on staffing and operational needs. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.   • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must be able to follow instructions and work autonomously.
