Job Purpose:

The Accounting Assistant will provide administrative and financial support to the General Manager and Marquette Mountain Resort. Responsibilities include maintaining precise accounting records, overseeing expense accounts, managing cash handling procedures, and performing various administrative duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Honor Commitments:

  • Posting and reviewing all general ledger journal entries
  • Gathering expense receipts and reconciling to Concur on a weekly basis
  • Entering daily shift reports into Quickbooks from the Point of Sales system
  • Counting registers weekly, providing changes as needed and maintaining record logs
  • Processing licensing renewals and maintaining records
  • Checking mail, dropping off and picking up mail and packages as needed
  • Participating in monthly financial statement analysis


Create Positive Experiences:

  • Receiving, scanning, and uploading all invoices to Quickbooks
  • Communicating with card holders to obtain missing receipts and determine coding
  • Assisting department heads with expense tracking and budgets

  • Assisting General Manager with administrative and marketing tasks as needed


Demonstrate Good Stewardship:

  • Daily posting of all bank activity
  • Performing reconciliations within the general ledger
  • Collecting, counting, and reconciling deposits to Quickbooks daily, and delivering to the bank
  • Reconciling over/short cash
  • Assisting with monthly department inventory counts

  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 year Accounting degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year in an accounting role is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • High attention to detail / accuracy
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Strong spreadsheet and Google Application skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in an occasionally loud/chaotic environment
  • Valid driver’s license
