Compensation: $16-$18/hr.

Location: Durango, CO


Job Summary: The role of the Parking Lot Attendant is to assist passengers to safely and efficiently park their vehicles in a manner that minimizes risk from damage and capitalizes on the use of limited parking space at our Rockwood and Durango lots. The ideal candidate is outgoing, energetic and friendly; someone who doesn't mind hard work outdoors, assisting customers and enjoying the beautiful scenery and landscape of the Southern San Juan Mountains.


Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional and courteous first point of contact for passengers upon arrival to our property
  • Collect parking fees
  • Answer general questions for customers about train departures and travel expectations
  • Direct passengers to assigned parking spaces, making sure to fully utilize the limited area of the parking lot
  • Guard customer vehicles and pedestrians against railroad movements
  • Close and/or move gates, partitions, safety cones, as necessary


Education, Skill & Experience:

  • Ability to think on your feet, making quick and accurate decisions regarding customer safety and parking
  • Experience or commitment to providing excellent customer service to passengers in a friendly and efficient manner

Work Environment:

  • Willing to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Able to work outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, snowy or other inclement weather
  • Able to walk on gravel and uneven surfaces with a keen awareness of passenger location and train movements at all times
