Position Summary

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker is responsible for providing behavioral health services to referred PMG patients in the form of, but not limited to, crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, health management, and traditional mental health services (when appropriate). The LCSW will serve as part of the care team, collaborating, consulting, and referring, to coordinate all treatment needs.


Description of Primary Responsibilities


1) Provide necessary behavioral health services to patients identified by Palms Medical Group Providers to include, but not limited to, emergency assessment, care coordination, brief psychotherapy, and recommendation for higher level of care; in accordance with the policies and procedures of PMG.

2) Promote health maintenance and prevention of disease.

3) Promote mutual, beneficial professional, relationships between the corporation and the surrounding health service providers and institutes.

4) Advise the appropriate member of management as defined on the institution’s organizational chart of any problems perceived with PMG operations.

5) Maintain the established system of medical records, in keeping with the current PMG policies and procedures.

6) Be available after hours to treat or triage behavioral health emergencies as determined necessary.

7) Share in providing coverage for extended office hours of PMG.

8) Share in providing coverage for any other extended service approved by the Board of Directors (e.g., 24-hour coverage) as instructed.

9) Agree to carry out all required responsibilities of the corporation relative to patient charges, third party reimbursement, ordering necessary therapy supplies and assessments, etc.

10) Participate in community service and health promotion programs.

11) Be responsible to participate in QA/QI activities as necessary.

12) Be responsible for ongoing staff and provider education, peer reviews, staff competencies, and updates to committees on Behavioral Health Integration Project.

13) Maintain appropriate certifications and undergo Credentialing, utilization, and meet requirements of peer reviews.

14) Assume the supervision of any staff as requested by Chief Medical Officer in accordance with Florida statutory requirements.

15) Perform other related duties as requested by the Chief Medical Officer.

16) Participate in the review of all medical policies, procedures, and protocols.

Licenses & Certifications:

1) Master’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited school of social work

2) Current and Valid LCSW license in the State of Florida

3) Current BLS (basic life support) Certification
