YMCA Camp Abnaki is looking for a Health Center Assistant to support the Camp Nurse in managing camper and staff health needs all season long. From bandaging scraped knees to coordinating emergency care, you'll be a key player in ensuring a safe and happy camp environment. Plus, you’ll get to soak up the magic of camp—think capture the flag at sunset, sailing on Lake Champlain, high ropes adventures, and campfire sing-alongs. The contract for this position is from June 5 through August 16, with a preferred start date of May 28. Possibilities of pre-season and post-season work are also available.

What You'll Do:
- Assist with Health Screenings: Support the Camp Nurse in reviewing camper and staff health records before arrival.
- Manage Medical Records: Maintain health files, treatment logs, and insurance documentation per ACA and pediatric standards.
- Support Medication Distribution: Assist with organizing and administering medications to campers and staff.
- Provide First Aid & Care: Help assess injuries and coordinate elevated medical care when necessary.
- Maintain Health Center Operations: Ensure the Health Center is clean, stocked, and ready for emergencies.
- Communicate with Parents: Provide updates on camper medical concerns and treatments.
- Train Camp Staff: Assist in training staff on health center policies and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate Medical Transport: Help transport campers and staff to local medical facilities when needed.
- Complete End-of-Season Duties: Conduct supply inventory and equipment storage at summer’s end.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Current medical certification in EMT (emergency medical technician), LNA (licensed nursing assistant), WFR (Wilderness First Responder), WFA (Wilderness First Aid), or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to live on-site for the duration of the camp season.
- Experience in healthcare, emergency response, or camp settings (preferred).
