Meeting Street is currently looking for an Early Learning Center Manager and Education Coordinator.
Duties:
- Ensures that the Early Learning Center (ELC) and RI Pre-K programs are safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate and inclusive programs for young children of all abilities and their families.
- Requires knowledge of RI State licensing through the Department of Human Services (DHS) and The RI Department or Education (RIDE).
- Experience with NAEYC and BrightStars accreditation process
- Required knowledge of the ITERS, ECERS and CLASS tools
- Oversees and ensures that the Early Learning Center and Rhode Island Pre-Kindergarten have a high-quality curriculum that follows developmentally appropriate practice, the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards and meets the individual needs of children with all abilities.
- Demonstrates culturally informed practice and behavior management and discipline practices with the ability to neutralize the pattern of inequitable discipline of children of color.
- Collaborates with Early Intervention, Child Outreach and Special Education Teams from partnering districts and RIDE.
- Develops, facilitates and implements strategic initiatives in accordance with the agency’s strategic plan.
- Ability to lead professional development trainings for staff.
- Provides supervision for staff allowing opportunities to explore challenging issues and increase their understandings of different perspectives and challenges our students and families face.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree that meets the requirements of the Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS) and BrightStars regulations and requirements.
- Current RIDE teacher certification in early childhood education (PK-2); special education certification (early childhood) preferred.
