Description

The Network Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting functions for our network of three schools. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will manage accounts payable, month-end close procedures, and the reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions while preparing accurate financial reports. Additionally, this position oversees all financial and accounting operations within the district—including budget management, record keeping, and regulatory compliance—ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines.


Reports to: Senior Director of Finance 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Payable

  • Process and manage all accounts payable transactions, including coding invoices, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable

Month-End Close

  • Prepare and post accurate and timely month-end journal entries
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Analyze financial data to identify variances and trends
  • Assist with the year-end close process

Cash and Credit Card Management

  • Reconcile daily and monthly cash accounts
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation
  • Assist Senior Director of Finance with the monitoring of cash flow and identify potential issues
  • Maintain accurate records of all cash and credit card transactions

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and distribute accurate and timely financial reports to school administrators and network leadership
  • Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Provide financial analysis and support as needed

Compliance and Auditing

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting regulations and standards
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records
  • Coordinate the implementation of robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data

Budget and Record Keeping

  • Assist the budget development process in collaboration with school leaders, monitor budget performance, and conduct variance analysis
  • Manage and maintain comprehensive financial records in accordance with district standards and regulatory requirements

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with budget preparation and monitoring
  • Provide training and support to school staff on accounting procedures
  • Manage financial projects and analyses as needed
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure transparency in financial operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Prior experience in the education sector or managing finances across multiple sites is highly desirable

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a GaPSC-issued clearance certificate

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
