Description

The Machinists shall be responsible for: 

  • Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output.
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
  • Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job.
  • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
  • Assists in overhauling, rebuilding and maintaining equipment.? 
  • Assist in performing all phases of maintenance (i.e., fabricating, welding, and troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventative maintenance. 
  • Candidates must be able to operate and maintain equipment properly by following directions. 
  • Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain stationary throughout a shift.

  • Ability to plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.  
  • Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing (Not required but a plus)    
  • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, mills etc.)      
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
  • Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material 
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals. 
  • Good at math with analytical abilities 
  • Knowledge of how to safely operate bandsaws, lathes and milling machines.  
  • Ability to take precise measurements and make calculations. 
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. 
  • Lockout/tag out procedures and follow all OSHA and company policies and best practices. 
  • Must have basic mechanical skills, and the ability to work with basic hand tools. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment. 
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability and desire to work up to higher level maintenance position. 
  • Completion of vocational training or on the job experience 
  • Proven experience as a machinist
