Description

The Machinists shall be responsible for:

Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output.
Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job.
Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
Assists in overhauling, rebuilding and maintaining equipment.?
Assist in performing all phases of maintenance (i.e., fabricating, welding, and troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventative maintenance.
Candidates must be able to operate and maintain equipment properly by following directions.
Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain stationary throughout a shift.

Requirements

Ability to plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing (Not required but a plus)
Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, mills etc.)
Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
Good at math with analytical abilities
Knowledge of how to safely operate bandsaws, lathes and milling machines.
Ability to take precise measurements and make calculations.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Lockout/tag out procedures and follow all OSHA and company policies and best practices.
Must have basic mechanical skills, and the ability to work with basic hand tools.
Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment.
Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability and desire to work up to higher level maintenance position.
Completion of vocational training or on the job experience
Proven experience as a machinist
