Instructional Designer
Description

Summary:
Responsible for actively collaborating with the Online Learning, CEBS, Educational Program and other Content teams, as well as external subject matter experts, in the development and production of e-learning courses, online exams, webcasts, virtual conferences and supplemental materials for educational programs and events. Assist in the implementation and distribution of educational products that are consistent with sound adult education instructional design principles and the Foundation’s strategic direction.

  • Plans and produces relevant topical learning experiences in workable formats utilizing state-of-the-art instructional design and material(s). 
  • Stays current with best practices in instructional design and educational technologies, and continually explores new technologies for potential use. 
  • Collaboratively establishes guidelines, protocols, procedures, and expectations for the development of assigned programs. Provides recommendations for course and conference design, sequencing of instruction, assessments and evaluation.
  • Effectively manages various project/content collaborators by providing advice, support, training and instruction as needed to ensure that expected goals and protocols are satisfactorily achieved.
  • Provides information, training and promotion of courseware and supporting systems to involved staff, subject matter experts, key stakeholders and customers.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
No formal supervisory responsibilities; however, incumbent may be required to train/mentor more junior staff members. 

Requirements

Required Education/ Experience:
The International Foundation will always consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in designing highly-rated adult educational programs that will stimulate Foundation members. 
  • A working background in blended learning and a prior capacity in a lead role is recommended. 
  • The individual will be knowledgeable of online and blended learning best practices, information technologies, learning management systems and instructional design methodologies. 
  • Extensive experience with typical business software is required. A working knowledge of systems such as Knowledge Management, and CRM would be beneficial.


Minimum Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a successful track record of being able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Leadership skills, project management skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and collaboration and team building skills. 
  • A working knowledge of employee benefits, compensation and human resources is desirable.


Travel Requirements:
This position may intermittently require that the individual travel for work; but only up to 10% of the time.


Work Environment:

This position is expected to work from our corporate headquarters office in Brookfield, WI, Monday through Friday of each week. This is an office environment with typical conditions, including lighting, noise, seating and equipment. Following a successful training period (and pending each individual's ability to effectively work from an appropriately-equipped home office, per the terms of the Hybrid Work Policy) incumbents may permitted to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, as business needs allow, in up-to a 60/40 (onsite/remote) hybrid schedule. The Foundation reserves the right to modify the current hybrid schedule at any time as business needs dictate.

COMPENSATION, PERKS & BENEFITS:


COMP: The annual salary range for this role starts at $60,000
