Role Overview


The Creative Director will lead all aspects of Vantaca's brand strategy and creative execution, serving as the steward of our brand identity across all touchpoints. This role combines strategic leadership with extensive hands-on creative production, particularly in motion graphics, animations, photo/video, and digital design. Rather than primarily managing others, this position requires a creative leader who thrives on personal execution and craftsmanship while elevating Vantaca's digital presence and brand experience. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a skilled creative practitioner who can personally produce sophisticated visual content to position Vantaca as the next-gen leader in community management software.

Key Responsibilities


1. Brand Strategy & Management

  • Serve as the primary steward of Vantaca's brand identity, voice, and positioning
  • Develop and evolve comprehensive brand guidelines, including visual identity, typography, photography, motion graphics, and voice/tone standards
  • Ensure brand consistency across all customer and prospect touchpoints
  • Lead brand evolution initiatives as the company grows and enters new markets
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align brand strategy with company vision

2. Creative Direction & Hands-On Production

  • Direct and personally execute the creative vision for all brand assets, with strong hands-on production capabilities
  • Personally create and produce motion graphics, animations, and video content that elevate Vantaca's digital presence
  • Execute high-impact video projects from conception to final delivery, including storyboarding, shooting, editing, and post-production
  • Take a hands-on approach to photography for company events, team photos, and product imagery
  • Create sophisticated motion graphic elements and animations that bring Vantaca's brand to life across digital channels
  • Drive the evolution of Vantaca's website and digital experiences through hands-on design and creative execution

3. Marketing & Sales Enablement

  • Create compelling sales presentations, one-pagers, case studies, and other collateral that showcase Vantaca's solutions and success stories
  • Design digital marketing assets that drive engagement and conversion
  • Develop thought leadership visual content that positions Vantaca as an industry innovator
  • Collaborate with product marketing to ensure brand consistency in product-related communications
  • Design email templates and campaigns that reflect our brand identity

4. Experience Design

  • Conceptualize and direct the design of Vantaca's presence at industry events, trade shows, and company-hosted events
  • Create immersive booth experiences that showcase our brand and solutions
  • Design event collateral, signage, promotional items, and digital experiences
  • Ensure consistent brand representation throughout event experiences
  • Develop post-event assets that extend the impact of in-person experiences

5. Digital Brand Experience

  • Personally design and produce components for Vantaca's website, focusing on creating dynamic, animated experiences
  • Create sophisticated motion graphics and interactive elements that enhance the website and digital properties
  • Develop and execute an engaging social media visual strategy with emphasis on animation and video content
  • Personally design and produce digital advertising creative with motion graphics that drives engagement
  • Create immersive digital experiences that showcase Vantaca's next-gen positioning
  • Establish and maintain UX/UI design standards that elevate the digital brand experience
  • Take a hands-on approach to implementing new digital brand elements across all platforms

6. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor and develop one direct report while maintaining high personal productivity and creative output
  • Partner closely with product teams to ensure brand consistency between marketing materials and product experience
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to understand their needs and personally deliver high-quality creative solutions
  • Present creative work to executive leadership and key stakeholders
  • Stay at the cutting edge of motion design, animation techniques, and digital design trends
  • Balance personal creative execution with strategic leadership responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary creative problem-solver and executioner for high-visibility projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in design, marketing, communications, or relevant field; Master's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in brand management and creative direction, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology
  • Proven track record of building and evolving brand systems for growing companies
  • Expert-level production skills in motion graphics and animation (After Effects proficiency is essential)
  • Advanced video production capabilities, including shooting, editing, and post-production
  • Exceptional digital design skills with portfolio examples of website design and interactive experiences
  • Strong photography skills, including editing and art direction
  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
  • Advanced experience with digital design tools like Figma or Sketch
  • Portfolio that demonstrates personal execution excellence in motion graphics, video, and digital design
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with ability to articulate creative vision to diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking with a deep understanding of how brand drives business objectives
  • Experience directing one direct report and managing external creative resources
  • Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and CMS systems (HubSpot preferred)
  • Experience planning and executing creative for events and trade shows
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple high-priority projects

Travel Expectations

  • Up to 25% travel for events, photo/video shoots, and key meetings

Supervision Responsibility

  • Direct supervision of one graphic designer/production specialist
  • Management of external creative agencies and freelancers as needed
