Electronic Warfare Technician II
Description

Purpose and Scope:


Provides operational and technical maintenance support for Fallon Range Training Complex. Position is represented by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. 


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Performs systems maintenance and operations and applies technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents.
  • Applies technical knowledge in troubleshooting, isolating malfunctions, repairing to the component level, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires understanding of the interrelationships of analog, digital, mechanical, and RF operating systems, diagnostics, and circuits. Makes circuit analyses, calculates waveforms, and traces relationships in signal flow. Uses applicable test equipment, based on task at hand, to complete required maintenance.
  • Provides technical guidance to lower level technicians.
  • Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on assigned system; corrosion control on equipment/antenna and site housekeeping.
  • Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance to accepted practices.
  • Qualified to operate primary system, 1 additional system, and perform maintenance on primary system.
  • Documents maintenance actions in Site Log and Integrated Enterprise Management System (IEMS) under guidance of senior technician.


Requirements

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • 2 years experience involved in the following maintenance: Digital/analog signal processing; synchro-servo circuits; Radar and radar theory; Electromechanical devices; Video signal processing and recording, large projectors; Communications (multiplexer equipment); Digital/analog computer systems; High voltage power supplies; Test equipment; Optical equipment; RF signal processing; Antenna systems; Low-voltage AC equipment; Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment; 
  • Two years of formal technical training may be substituted for two years of experience.  
  • Possess excellent writing skills and strong communication skills.  
  • Read and write in the English language.
  • U.S. citizen. 
  • Must possess and maintain an active Secret clearance


Minimum Position Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

38.90/hour
