He decided to make something for people with passion for fishing, and started manufacturing water repellent garments to withstand the forces of nature – keeping all men and women warm, dry and safe when doing what they love. Grundens is a growing consumer goods company dedicated to delivering high-quality fishing apparel to commercial fishermen and recreational anglers worldwide. We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Controller to lead our Finance team. This role will oversee all financial activities, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance. The Controller requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills who can both strategize and execute financial processes in a small but dynamic business setting.


The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and leads a team of 3 individuals.

Responsibilities

· Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

· Lead and own the entirety of the month end close process; preparation of consolidated financial statements, cash flow forecasting, explaining variance vs. budget and preparing detailed notes on month end performance.

· Manage financial budgeting and forecasting process

· Ensure compliance with local & state taxes including reporting and adding new states. Prepare tax schedules for external accountants.

· Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risks, implementing strategies for financial stability.

· Own all US financial audits including bank covenants, insurance, and external accountants review. Assisting with audit and filling of annual report in Sweden.

· Prepare and disseminate frequent reports and information for a variety of internal and external audiences.

· Assist in the preparation of the budget, notably in building the templates including historical data that internal stakeholders will use to build their budgets. 

· Assist in cash flow forecasting in the US and long-range financial forecasts for the Grundens group.

· Research US GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements as needed.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university. Additional schooling, certifications, or designations are highly desired. 

· 5+ years of relevant work experience in a consumer-goods industry, including a minimum of 2 years managing other team members.

· 3+ years of MS Dynamics NAV experience, preferred in a multi-currency environment.

· Experience in building strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, peers, and customers while demonstrating knowledge and professionalism.


Work location: Hybrid with minimum of 3 days per week onsite at Poulsbo, WA office


Compensation: This role can expect to earn $110,000-150,000 in annual salary.
