IMPORTANT ROLES WITHIN THE COMPANY

The WDO Repair Technician is accountable for:

  • Fulfilling contracted WDO repair services
  • Completing work on time and within budget
  • Supporting marketing initiatives

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (80%)

  • Follow directions of Supervisor or crew lead.
  • Read, interpret, and understand WDO crew sheet and reports.
  • Follow procedures for purchasing supplies and turning in receipts.
  • Complete work orders according to Thrasher standards using power tools and hand tools.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work site.
  • Document work with before and after photos and completed crew sheet as instructed.
  • Communicate with the customer to provide a positive experience with our company. Follow customer instructions to secure the premises.
  • When requested by supervisor, lead a simple walk-through of the project with the customer before and/or after work is complete.
  • Follow company process to communicate any issues with the job, materials, customer, further damage, timeline, safety, or other issues. 
  • Maintain assigned company equipment.

HERE TO HELP ATTITUDE: OTHER DUTIES (15%)

  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Communicate with teammates and supervision/management to promote organization.
  • Escalate issues as necessary to supervisor.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed. Cover for other teammates as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Working outdoors

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Working with power & manual tools overhead
  • Able to drive 15-45 minutes at a time

  • Working in various types of weather (Hot and Cold)
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Must use and maintain the safety equipment including bump cap, gloves, goggles, respirators, eye washers and first aid kits
  • Ability to wear a respirator for long periods of time

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Insurable by motor vehicle insurer (clean driving record). 
  • Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company’s Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they have a good relationship with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management. 
  • In addition, the education, experience, and other skills listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

  • Required: none

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred: two (2) years of carpentry and general home repair experience
  • Preferred: one (1) year in the termite and pest control business
