BASIC FUNCTION: The Assistant Banquet Manager supports the Banquet Manager in overseeing the banquet team, coordinating with other departments and ensuring a seamless guest experience while maintaining the highest service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Event Execution & Service
- Sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies and procedures (SOPs, LSOPs, etc.).
- Oversee the setup, execution and breakdown of banquet events to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain high standards of service, ensuring all banquet staff provide exceptional guest experiences.
- Address and resolve guest concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure accurate entry of event details into the Toast system based on BEOs for proper billing and seamless event execution.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation regulations.
Team Leadership & Training
- Assist in recruiting, training and supervising banquet staff.
- Motivate and mentor team members, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Lead pre-event meetings to communicate event details and service expectations.
- Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continued improvement.
- Communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures and ensures staff are trained in safety procedures.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with the Sales, Events and Culinary teams to ensure smooth event execution.
- Communicate event details, changes and special requests to all relevant departments.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of banquet supplies and coordinating with vendors as needed.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor banquet spaces for cleanliness, organization and readiness before and after events.
- Ensure all banquet equipment and facilities are properly maintained.
- Assist in developing and implementing service improvements to enhance guest satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous banquet or food & beverage leadership experience required (hospitality background preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of banquet operations, food service and event coordination.
