Description


The IT Project Specialist plays a key role in supporting the successful execution of IT initiatives by fostering collaboration, facilitating communication, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.  This position serves as a bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, ensuring IT projects progress efficiently while maintaining focus on process improvements, best practices, and organizational priorities. 


The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in project coordination, with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable tasks while fostering a culture of teamwork and cross-department synergy.


Ensures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking rules and/or regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Support the planning, execution, and delivery of IT initiatives, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and operational needs.  
  • Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and milestones while monitoring progress and identifying potential risks.
  • Facilitate communication between IT leadership, technical teams, vendors, and business units to drive project success.  
  • Track project deliverables, budgets, and timelines, escalating issues when necessary to ensure continuity and mitigate risks.  
  • Maintain documentation of project decisions, lessons learned, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.  
  • Organize project meetings, prepare status reports, and provide updates to IT leadership and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with IT leadership, technical teams, and business units to ensure projects align with overall IT and business strategies.
  • Assist in defining project requirements and translating them into actionable steps for implementation.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and enhanced efficiency.
  • Help ensure that IT initiatives comply with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development of user training materials and provide guidance during project transitions.
  • Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, project management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, technical support or a related role.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software systems, and business applications.
  • Knowledge of IT project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and project tracking tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Jira).
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in documentation and visualization tools such as Microsoft Project, Lucid Chart, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to assist in resolving technical challenges.  
  • Relevant certifications such as CAPM, PMP, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Project+, or ITIL are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Team player who fosters collaboration and cross-functional engagement.  

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment:

 

The incumbent in the course of performing this position frequently spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, operating basic business equipment, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, client contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent for this position will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, pull, squat, kneel and reach. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which they are free to move about at will. The work environment is typically quiet to a moderate noise level.

 

Travel is required to new branches. It is primarily local during the business day, and occasionally there will be out-of-area and overnight travel.
