Description

The primary duties of the Senior Accountant, under the guidance of the Controller, are to manage receivables, record payroll related entries, record allocation entries, REVIEW bank reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting functions. We are seeking an individual that can provide excellent customer service and while demonstrating team player attributes.

Requirements
  • BA or BS in Accounting (or related courses) with 3-5 years of similar work experience. 
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization and government contract experience is a requirement 
  • Strong analytical, accounting research and problem solving skills required
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Interfaces with all levels of management
  • Advanced PC skills required; Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.,) Net Suite, Paylocity, Concur, etc.
  • Previous experience working with non-profit and/or government agencies is preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the general ledger,   accounts payable and payroll functions and ensuring accuracy of monthly and   annual financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and any other appropriate   regulations (A-133, etc).
  • Assists in preparation of budgets, reviews monthly   expenditures, reviews bank reconciliation, reviews ledgers.
  • Responsible for assisting the general ledger,   accounts payable and payroll functions and ensuring accuracy of monthly and   annual financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and any other appropriate   regulations (A-133, etc).
  •  Assists in preparation of budgets, reviews monthly   expenditures, reviews bank reconciliation, reviews ledgers.
  •  Responsible for assisting the general ledger,   accounts payable and payroll functions and ensuring accuracy of monthly and   annual financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and any other appropriate   regulations (A-133, etc).
  •  Manage stale checks. 
  •  Prepare Accounts Receivable Analysis and AR Update   Report/AR Roll forward
  • Monthly Review of AR Aging 
  • Update Lease schedule and Maintain Capital Lease   schedule
  • Record FTE statistical allocations and shared agency allocations
  • Post Bi-weekly JVS Payroll journal entry and WEX Payroll journal entry
  •  Post Leave Accruals, Record Benefit Accruals and Accrue   pension liabilities
  •  Calculate and post bonus accrual
  • Complete certain balance sheet account   reconciliations
  • Gather requested supporting documents for reviews   and audits

While performing the essential functions of this job, the individual must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required.

$80,000 - $90,000 per year
