The Prairie Band One Stop Summer Intern is responsible for completing the summer intern program with Prairie Band One Stop with the end goal of learning the functions of managing our One Stop convenience store.  The emphasis in these core competency areas:  1) Corporate structure, 2) Store operational functions, and 3) Subsidiary Management.  Prairie Band, LLC is a fun and collaborative company encouraging teamwork and leveraging employees' individual abilities to achieve shared goals.


This is a unique opportunity in that you will get to work on projects with the store’s management and leaders. You will have the opportunity to network both internally and externally with other area Interns. Our Interns have exposure to our Leadership team and spend time with them as well. 


Responsibilities

• Accurately operate cash register system including all cash and credit transactions

• Ensure guest satisfaction by providing speedy service, excellent customer service and being attentive to guest needs

• Ensure inventory levels are adequate and stock merchandise as needed

• Protect company assets

• Adhere to company and compliance policies

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for employees and customers

• Provide excellent customer service

• Must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to initiate and maintain a drive for learning.

• Ability to attend all assigned meetings and complete the required assignments and projects.



Requirements

• Must have an overall GPA of 2.50 or above and will either be attending college, a trade school, be a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or higher, or have a strong desire to learn more about business/store management.

• Preferred areas of study: Business, Management, Finance or related course of study

• Must possess intermediate level use of MS Office software

• Must possess strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills

• Be detail-oriented focused on quality in all aspects of your work

• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

• Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations

• Have a strong financial aptitude

• Have reliable transportation

• Have to ability to work 20-30 hours per week, ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work in the US on a permanent and unlimited basis


Tribal Preference

Prairie Band LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 1 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).
