Job Title: Information & Assistance Specialist

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Information & Assistance Specialist to provide vital information, assistance, and education to the public and visitors at AAAWA and at the Senior Centers affiliated with AAAWA. This role plays a key part in supporting older adults by offering resources and guidance on programs such as MIPPA, SHIIP, SNAP and Medicare, as well as teaching Evidence-Based Programs and assisting with various community initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Information & Assistance: Provide information, assistance, and guidance to clients and visitors of the Agency and Senior Centers on available programs, including, but not limited to, MIPPA, SHIIP, SNAP, and Medicare.
- Evidence-Based Programs: Teach participants at the Senior Centers and through various media platforms, ensuring participants have access to valuable health and wellness resources.
- Tournament and Project Support: Assist in the coordination and execution of various tournaments and special projects at the Senior Centers sponsored by AAAWA.
- Social & Educational Services: Ensure clients and participants have access to all services available to them, ensuring seamless connection to appropriate resources.
- Grant & Billing Support: Collaborate with the Grants Department to assist with billing procedures and preparation of monthly reports as needed.
- Professional Development: Attend training sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
- Liaison to Other Service Agencies: Act as a liaison between AAAWA and other service agencies, maintaining collaborative relationships and facilitating referrals and support.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management to meet the needs of clients and the team.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional presentation skills. Comfortable presenting in front of large audiences.
- Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Canva preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening.
