JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Calibrates/operates/maintains computer, software, amplifiers, and CPAP/BIPAP machines.
· Prepares patient for study; recognizes side of effects of therapy/drugs administered; follows adverse reaction policy.
· Monitors/assesses/records patient data; transcribes physician orders; assesses medical response; maintains documentation.
· Disassembles equipment, cleans/sterilizes, reassembles and ensure equipment is performing properly.
· Performs procedures according to department policy/procedure.
· Properly fits patient for C-Pap equipment; performs related education.
· Practices universal precautions and infection control; reports hazards to protect patients/staff.
· May assist with Cardio-Pulmonary procedures.
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Polysomnography Technologist registration
- Current CPR.
- PALS and/or ACLS certification preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Routine lifting requirements less than 50 pounds
- Standing/sitting/walking/pushing/pulling/lifting/bending/reach required.
