Cornerstone Family Healthcare is actively recruiting for an Audiology Specialist to join our growing team.

RATE OF PAY/SALARY: $22.00 per hour 

WORK LOCATION(S): Middletown, NY

STATUS: Part Time (10 hours per week)

General Purpose:

To support the Audiology Department by ordering hearing aids and performing administrative duties as necessary.


Description of Duties:

  • Facilitate ordering of hearing aids/ear molds/accessories.
  • Check all invoices and forward to Site Administrator for final approval.
  • Performs pre-visit planning (PVP) for the audiologist’s schedule. Ensures all insurances are verified, added into the patient accounts, and case created/attached to all visits to ensure payment. 
  • Submit/follow up on prior authorizations and verify charges and orders.
  • Schedule patient visits for hearing aid dispensing/conformity evaluations/hearing aid repair pick ups.
  • Schedules appointments, changes appointments, and cancels appointments as needed.
  • Is knowledgeable about the sliding fee scale and is able to communicate required documentation and all requirements to patients.
  • Communicates with different hearing aid companies regarding prices, ordering, and supplies. 
  • Monitor warranty coverage.
  • Manage repairs.
  • Monitor hearing aid supplies and submit requisition to Site Administrator.
  • Create new medical record for patients including all necessary forms.
  • Uses appropriate phone etiquette, treating all callers with courtesy and respect. Is attentive to all callers on hold and diligently monitors time spent on hold. 
  • Project specific tasks to support service delivery and reporting.
  • Prepare documentation as needed/requested for hearing aid dispensing/ordering.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills at all times.
  • Is knowledgeable about policies and procedures related to patient registration, documentation requirements, and collection, HIPPA/Confidentiality and all other policies and procedures related to this position.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all aspects of the center including, bit not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations. 
  • Participate in corporate compliance, privacy, security, and orientation/trainings. 
  • Communicate changes in schedule, workdays, and hours to the Site Administrator.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Demonstrates skills with office programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, or equivalent)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Strong computer skills
  • At least one year of clerical experience
  • Knowledge of data entry
  • Pleasant telephone manner and ability to work under pressure
  • bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
Salary Description
$22 per hour
