General Kinematics is the premier manufacturer of vibrating equipment for the processing of materials within the foundry, recycling, mining, aggregate and food industries. We are currently looking for a qualified Application Engineer to join our team in Crystal Lake, IL. The successful candidate will drive design development in conformance with company standards and customer specifications. Communication with customers and functional organizations within the company is an important part of this position.
Job Responsibilities
- Take a proactive approach in partnering with contract sales, component sales, systems, engineering, and project management to provide customers with competitive and accurate proposals.
- Develop new designs to meet customer or marketing specifications.
- Document designs using the appropriate format to company and/or customer standards.
- Provide guidance to other departments: manufacturing, engineering, customer service, through the life of the project.
- Process inbound RFQ’s from the company’s sales team.
- Prepare and issue written quotes to customers.
- Enter orders into CRM for all contract jobs.
- Process and perform development project testing.
- Accompany sales personnel to conduct field measuring and/or attend customer meetings.
- Provide guidance/status updates to customers and other departments: Engineering, Contract Sales, Sales Representatives of the contracted job.
- Fully support the Company’s ISO objectives, GK WAY, policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
- 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD, 3D Solid Modeling or other drawing software desired. (CATIA, Inventor and AutoCAD skills are preferred).
- Strong mechanical design skills with an ability to read and layout mechanical drawings.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay/Benefits:
Pay: $70,000 to $80,000 paid annually. The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include, and are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, geography, and internal equity.
