SUMMARY: The Learning & Performance Department ensures a sustainable workforce at Breckenridge Grand Vacations that is trained and motivated to provide exceptional internal and external customer service. By providing a desirable and positive work experience, BGV believes employees are both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated to deliver BGV’s purpose of Sharing Smiles, and mission to create grand vacations for its owners, guests and internal customers. The Learning & Performance Manager champions BGV’s culture and supports a variety of initiatives including but not limited to orientation, onboarding, communication, retention, engagement and employee development initiatives. Responsibilities include supervising other Learning & Performance Department employees, overseeing effective internal trainings, employee survey responses, reviews, research, data reporting and analysis, meetings, and presentations, and fostering collaboration and employee development up, down, and across all parts of BGV.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include without limitation:
- Employee Engagement
- Model BGV’s cultural fundamentals, including our purpose, mission, and standards, and inspire others to do the same.
- Lead efforts to ensure an engaged, talented, motivated and sustainable BGV workforce.
- Support employee engagement initiatives such as surveys and other feedback solicitations, including support of the annual companywide Employee Engagement Survey response management.
- Training & Development
- Develop and deliver effective training and development programs for all employees and departments, across all levels of experience, skills and services to improve performance, productivity, career development, and engagement. Initiatives include but are not limited to new employee orientation, leadership development, Grand Vacations Sessions, Results Leadership Sessions, Leadership Summit, customer service and conflict management curriculum.
- Identify training needs by assessing current knowledge gaps, design course content and training materials, facilitate training programs, track completion and measure impact to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
- Oversee internal and external training resources through available technology platforms (Learning Management System) and in-person education to ensure the owner, guest and employee experience meets or exceeds service goals.
- Employee Communications
- Collaborate with BGV Gives to provide regular training and performance content to employees, including posting to BGV’s internal communications platform, OneBGV.com
- Collaboration
- Serve as facilitator of various meetings, group work sessions and presentations as requested.
- Collaborate with the BGV Executive Team and Lead Team as needed on pertinent employee engagement issues, including but not limited to training, sustainable workforce issues and employee survey response.
- Collaborate with HR on talent acquisition, Employee Support Department, all BGV Leaders and other key stakeholders on training and performance initiatives.
- With support from Analytics Team, HR and other departments, provide regular data reporting and analysis on employee engagement that drives effective change.
- Manage all Learning & Performance Department staff, including Learning & Performance Specialists, and follow the Results Leadership operating procedures when recruiting, hiring, training, retaining, developing, coaching, scheduling, reviewing, disciplining, and terminating staff.
- Provide guidance and support and be a team leader.
- Ensure all training is thorough, occurring regularly, conducted in a way that drives results and ensures consistent staff knowledge and performance. Assist with training as needed.
- Delegate daily work tasks and projects and check the work of all staff to ensure quality control. Ensure staff is productive.
- Work with staff to resolve issues in the spirit of OneBGV. Consult with department managers on issues, as needed.
- Perform staff evaluations and coaching meetings. Provide feedback and coach employees on ways to improve performances and establish goals. Follow up with employees to evaluate progress and ensure improvement.
- Establish, communicate, and reinforce Company policies, procedures, and standards with the staff.
- Handle and track all staff tardiness, sick days, and absenteeism.
MARGINAL DUTIES, functions that are not considered essential to the job:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support BGV environmental sustainability practices.
- Participate in Emergency Response plan as emergency evacuation, wild land fire, safety and business continuity plans dictate.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; 3+ years of relevant experience in training and performance coaching, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE: Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a minimum of two years of experience with these programs. Ability to operate office equipment such as copier, scanner, phone, and calculator. Ability to type by touch, operate a personal computer and accurately record time worked, in the correct department, using the Company time keeping system. Ability to perform research on the internet.
REQUIREMENTS: Reliable mode of transportation required.
SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: Previous supervisory experience preferred. This position supervises direct reports.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to speak, read and write, in English. Ability to read and interpret business correspondence, general business periodicals, governmental regulations, instructions, job descriptions, professional journals, reports, rules, schedules, and technical and work procedures. Ability to write business correspondence, instructions, presentations, procedures, reports, and schedules. Ability to speak effectively and present information in one-on-one and large group situations to employees of the organization, management, and outside vendors. Ability to communicate in Spanish will be strongly preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, percent, discounts, interest, commission, and percentages. Ability to create and interpret bar graphs.
