Job Description: Retail Sales Professional 

An employee-owned company serving the music industry since 1972, Eckroth Music specializes in band and orchestra instruments, accessories, method books and instrument repair. With nine locations spanning over four states, Eckroth Music is proud to continue the tradition of excellence and passion for the arts that started when Eckroth Music opened its doors. 


Reports to: 

The Retail Sales Professional reports to the Store Manager. 


Position Summary: 

The primary function of the Retail Sales Professional (RSP) is to provide outstanding customer service while living out our Passion: Inspiring Lives Through Instrumental Musical Experiences. This will be accomplished by working in the store, at school events and supporting the Store Manager and School Service Representatives. 

The RSP will work collaboratively with the store team while demonstrating our Niche: Providing the Best Experience for Beginning Band & Orchestra Families.

The RSP is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. 


Responsibilities: 

Retail

1. Acknowledge and assist all customers with their specific requests and needs.

2. Continuous learning about products and special promotions.

3. Responsible to work cooperatively with the sales team to meet or exceed weekly and monthly store sales goals.

4. Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.

Sales Support

1. Oversee the stocking, cleaning and organization of the store and stockroom according to established standards.

2. Receive new inventory and store transfers

3. Fill customer orders and transfers to other stores. 

4. Assist with pricing, tagging, and placing inventory on sales floor. 

General

1. Employee is expected to be pleasant, courteous, and perform duties in a professional manner.

2. Constant knowledge of company policies and procedures.

3. Maintaining a high level of customer and employee satisfaction through delegated responsibilities.

4. May be required to work weekend hours, evening hours, and work rotating shifts.

5. Must be able to work under continuous stressful situations.

6. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements

  

Physical Requirements:

1. Employee is often required to sit, stand, lift, use their fingers and hands, handle and feel.

2. Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use stairs, reach, balance, stoop and kneel.

3. Above average verbal and written skills

4. Ability to handle all supplies to work independently.

5. Lift up to 50 pounds - 10% of the time

6. Employee is required to talk and to hear.


Basic Skills Required:

1. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

2. Basic computer skills, including but not limited to AIM and Microsoft Office.

3. Keyboard accurately.

4. On the Job training provided
