Job Summary:


The Clinical Staff Trainer will be responsible for training Medical Assistants (MAs) and nurses in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) clinic setting. This role ensures that clinical staff are proficient patient rooming, workflow processes, and Epic EHR usage. The Clinical Educator will provide a structured onboarding program for new hires and facilitate ongoing training for current staff, including training on newly implemented processes. Optimize the scope of practice for MA/ Nurse staff to increase support and efficiency for our providers, close care gaps and improve patient quality, and improve the patient experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct a comprehensive onboarding program for newly hired MAs and nurses, ensuring competency in patient care and organizational standards. 
  2. Provide ongoing training and support to current clinical staff to maintain competency, compliance, and best practices. 
  3. Train staff in patient rooming procedures, clinical workflow, best practices, and documentation standards. 
  4. Collaborate with quality teams to develop workflows and documentation standards, focusing on care gap closure. 
  5. Serve as an EHR trainer, ensuring staff proficiency in EHR navigation and documentation. 
  6. Develop and update training materials to align with organizational protocols and regulatory requirements. 
  7. Implement training programs when new clinical processes or technologies are introduced. 
  8. Collaborate with clinic leadership and HR to identify training needs and ensure consistent education delivery. 
  9. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback through skills assessments, simulations, and competency evaluations. 
  10. Ensure training compliance with organizational policies and state/federal regulations. 
  11. Act as a resource for clinical staff, providing mentorship and guidance. 
  12. Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives to identify performance improvement opportunities. 
  13. Document training activities and maintain accurate records of staff competencies. 
  14. Perform other duties as assigned to support clinical excellence and operational efficiency

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

  •  Active RN or LPN license.
  • Current BLS Certification required.
  • Valid and unrestricted State Nursing License 
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a clinic setting. 
  • Experience with Epic EHR or other electronic health record systems.
  • Strong teaching and training skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and adjust content as needed.
