FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employment type: Part Time, 19 - 25 hours per week

Salary: $24 - $32 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary:
The bookkeeper position provides support to the pastor and finance council in maintaining and regulating our parish financial health.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a financial bookkeeping system including accounts payable, receivable, and cash receipts
  • Balance accounts, ledgers and reconciles bank statements, pay bills, make bank deposits, and process credit card payments
  • Maintain parish system for recording offerings and donations
  • Send donor acknowledgments and statement of contribution/donation for tax purposes
  • Verify employee timesheets and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Assist in preparing the parish annual budget
  • Attend diocesan bookkeeper’s’ meetings and webinars
  • Provide other bookkeeping and administrative collateral functions as directed by the pastor
Requirements

  • Practicing knowledge of accounting, record keeping, and budgeting principles and practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the pastor and parish staff
  • College graduate and/or training equivalent
  • Two years of experience with QuickBooks software

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. This position may require evening and weekend work.
