Position Overview
The Clinical Ambulatory Application Analyst- Maintenance team supports the mission of OCHIN by configuring and supporting clinical applications within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) software for our member clinics. This role consults with members to provide solutions that offer accurate, secure, and efficient patient care and provider workflows, medical and billing information for patient's providers and clinics, and usage of Epic front desk application and related ancillary services, with a focus on quality outcomes for our member organizations.
Essential Duties
Analyst job duties:
- Perform routine build and configuration in Epic and related products.
- Act as Level 2 technical support for many ancillary integrated products. This entails:
- Collecting and resolving issues
- Coordinating with Help Desk on JIRA resolution
- Helping the product owner to put together agendas for vendor calls.
- Representing OCHIN on vendor calls from a technical perspective.
- Operate alongside the Member Care Team framework, being a key contributor to the overall goals of the team support model.
- Serve as internal advisor to other analyst as the lead working sessions with OCHIN members to resolve advanced and complex integration work orders and support issues.
- Discuss and provide workflow solutions and ensure understanding of the system through hands on training.
- Document build specifications, team processes and complex clinic workflows.
- QA complex builds, Service Update (SU) modifications, and other work orders.
- Collaborate with members from other OCHIN teams to address integration issues.
- Provide elbow support to clinic staff during Go-Lives and Mock clinics as needed.
- Lead trainings and workgroups for members.
- Mentor, coach, and train less experienced analysts.
- Develop and share workflow best practices.
- Travel to support off-site software installations as needed, estimated to be up to 10%.
- Assist Project Managers in identifying system capabilities.
- Build, design, test, and document functionality of new system features.
- Provide process improvements within your application or team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Senior Analyst job duties:
- Perform complex build and configuration in Ambulatory and related products.
- Operate in OCHIN’s Member Care Team framework as a key contributor to the overall goals of the team support model.
- Lead working sessions with OCHIN members to resolve advanced and complex integration work orders.
- Discuss and provide workflow solutions and ensure understanding of the system through hands on training.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on applications across the organization.
- Lead and mentor other analysts on complex interdepartmental project work.
- Document build specifications, team processes and complex clinic workflows.
- QA complex builds, Quarterly Update (SU) modifications, and other work orders.
- Collaborate with members from other OCHIN teams to address integration issues.
- Provide elbow support to clinic staff during Go-Lives and Dress Rehearsals as needed.
- Lead trainings and workgroups for members.
- Develop and share workflow best practices.
- Travel to support off-site software installations as needed.
- Assist Project Managers in identifying system capabilities.
- Build, design, test, and document functionality of new system features.
- Provide process improvements within your application or team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Analyst:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar or relevant role; one EPIC certification may be substituted for one year of this requirement.
- The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience as an Epic Applications Analyst, with a minimum of 2 years of application build experience.
- Work history in Healthcare IT is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a combination of college education and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Epic Ambulatory Certification is required.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Senior Analyst:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar or relevant role.
- Work history in Healthcare IT is required.
- Minimum of 2 applicable certifications/proficiencies with preference given to Ambulatory, Wisdom, HOD, and Ambulatory certification is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Healthcare Informatics or Computer Science preferred) or a combination of college education and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as an Epic Applications Analyst, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in build is required.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills – able to communicate with both application and technical team members, as well as end users.

- Proactive, self-motivated, and solution oriented.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
Base Pay Overview
The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Analyst salary full pay band range: (Min-$77,235 Mid-Point $96,544 Max-$115,582)
Senior Analyst full pay band range: (Min- $89,836 Mid-point $116,786 Max- $143,737)
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
To keep our colleagues, members, and communities safe, OCHIN requires all employees—including remote employees, contractors, interns, and new hires—to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, as supported by state and federal public health officials, as a condition of employment. Work Location and Travel Requirements
OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.
