Position Summary

As a Vessel Service Technician will perform installations, repairs and preventative maintenance of ABEC and other equipment as directed. Tasks may include the following: Fit, assembly, and disassembly of precision components; diagnose electrical and mechanical problems and issues; replace all required maintenance items, test components, and verify all repaired items; recommend changes to improve efficiency. In addition to your work at customer locations, Vessel Service Technicians also assist in the manufacturing functions, such as assembling components on projects, support start up and equipment installation, and assist with the training of new hires. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to communicate with cross-functional team (Vessel Service Managers, Engineering, QA) & ASME Authorized Inspectors. 
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers. 
  • On-site supervising & directing the activities of the Field Technicians. 
  • Providing leadership in project execution. 
  • Coordinate tool shipment & return. 
  • Communication with ASME Authorized Inspectors. 
  • Assist with “hands-on” Confined Space training for Field Technicians. 
  • Compliance with all ASME Code & NBIC welding requirements. 
  • Compliance with customer’s safety SOP’s. Conduct all operations in a safe manner. 
  • Ability to execute the fabrication scope according to blueprints and specifications. 
  • Ability to execute other tasks as assigned & recommend improvements. 
  • Represent company in a respectable way.

  • Ability to travel when required, up to 80% (some local)


Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • 2 years post high school in equipment service or manufacturing craftsman. 
  • Experience in welding fabrication & must pass an ASME/PED weld test; experience in grinding and NDT/liquid dye penetrate. 
  • Experience in reading blueprints 
  • As much as 90% travel with overnight and extended stay potential.  
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required/ability to obtain. 
  • Domestic and international travel is required. 
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. / 23 kilograms  
  • Typical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s site 
  • Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor.  
  • You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items.  
  • Exposure to loud noises 
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment
