Greenville University is seeking a passionate and driven Graduate Assistant - Cheer and Dance Coach to support all aspects of our Cheer and Dance programs. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop coaching skills while earning a graduate degree, with tuition & stipend provided.
The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and leadership to the program, helping student-athletes develop their skills while fostering a Christ-centered team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Coaching & Training: Assist in planning and leading practices, game-day performances, and competition routines.
- Recruitment & Retention: Help identify and engage prospective student-athletes through emails, phone calls, letters, and social media.
- Academic & Spiritual Mentorship: Support student-athletes’ academic progress and lead team Bible studies or faith-based mentorship initiatives.
- Administrative Support: Manage team operations, maintain databases, and assist in fundraising, marketing, and community outreach.
- Game Day & Event Management: Assist with athletic events, performances, and university-related activities as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a Greenville University graduate program.
- Cheer and/or dance experience at the collegiate, all-star/studio, or high school level.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to Greenville University’s Christian mission and values.
Preferred:
- Previous coaching experience.
- Cheer and/or Dance technique, training, and choreography experience.
