Our Wine Educators are responsible for enlightening and entertaining our guests, providing welcoming and authentic experiences, and generating wine sales and wine club sign-ups.
Hourly wage does not include commissions, bonuses and gratuities. Essential Functions:
- Greet guests warmly and engage them in PEJU’s history, the family story, and our wine offerings.
- Lead memorable and engaging wine tastings, making each experience fun and educational.
- Share knowledge about wines, varietals, and winemaking to enhance our guests’ experience.
- Share your knowledge of wine by recommending wines, wine club memberships, and merchandise that enhance our guests’ experience, while striving to meet sales goals and quotas.
- Process purchases using POS software and accurately input guest information.
- Maintain Tasting Room Standards: Assist with opening and closing duties, inventory management, restocking, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the Tasting Room and outdoor areas.
- Work effectively as part of a team, willingly assisting with other duties as needed to support the Tasting Room. Maintain a positive attitude and take initiative, understanding that no task is beneath you when contributing to a successful team environment.
- Minimum of four years in a sales role, wine sales is preferred. Proven record of successful sales; ability to close and upsell.
- Effective, courteous, and positive communicator, both with visitors and team members.
- Enthusiasm for fine wine, hospitality, selling, and storytelling with a strong attention to detail.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Proficiency with Commerce7 or similar POS systems and other Microsoft programs.
- Desire to keep learning more about our wines, our story, and our approach to hospitality.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Strong teamwork and professionalism – Must be able to maintain a positive, drama-free work environment by focusing on solutions rather than conflicts.
- Ability to handle opportunities with maturity – We seek individuals who communicate effectively and contribute to a respectful team culture.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This is an on the floor position with frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate a iPad, employing repetitive arm and wrist motions.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
• Specific vision abilities require close and distance vision.
