About the job:

Design and develop manufacturing systems with emphasis on precision injection molds, molding processes,and metrology. Complete cost reduction and continuous improvement projects in support of new and existing products. Provide daily engineering support to all production operations. Direct the technical efforts of technicians and hourly associates in support of assigned projects.

  

What you will do:

Design and develop molds, molding processes, manufacturing systems and techniques

Design and develop system/process improvements and cost reductions

Develop and document manufacturing processes via instructions and data sheets

Design/Develop/Perform tight tolerance product and process measurement processes to ensure product dimensions and performance meet specifications

Provide technical manufacturing support to other functional areas as needed

Procure new equipment and necessary training as required.

Repair or arrange for repair of equipment in the manufacturing area as required

Provide daily engineering support to production molding

Assist with analysis on customer returns to determine root cause of failures or complaints

Lead activities of Process Technicians and hourly associates in support of assigned projects

Provide process and/or equipment training to process technicians and hourly associates as required.

Develop strategic supplier relationships as appropriate

What we'd like you to have:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering field, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering 

Knowledge of statistical techniques (ie. design of experiments, measurement R&R, and statistical process control)

Working knowledge of machining, tools, fixturing, and assembly practices

Knowledge and working experience with mechanical (indicators, micrometers, etc.) and electronic metrology instrumentation (CMM, CT, Interferometry, Confocal microscope, etc.) is preferred.

Exposure to the installation, troubleshooting, and/or repair of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.

Exposure to PLCs, data acquisition, and industrial software programming.

Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

Advanced PC skills with standard MS Office software.

Experience with a 3D CAD system is preferred
