Job Summary: The Production Lead makes sure that the team follows the right procedures and helps train Production Associates. This role helps keep the work flowing smoothly and makes sure that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. The Production Lead works with the Production Management team to improve how the plant runs and helps create a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and supporting everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
Make sure the work flows smoothly in the production area and fix any problems that come up.
Answer questions from team members about the production process or equipment.
Lead by example, encouraging teamwork and helping team members with advice, support, and motivation.
Operate machines on the production line when someone is absent.
Communicate with Production Management about any issues and offer solutions.
Help set goals and track productivity and quality standards with Production Management.
Promote safety by showing how to follow safety rules and report any safety issues.
Make sure the work area is clean and organized, especially before shift changes.
Take part in activities that improve the workplace, like 5S, Standard Work, and Hour by Hour.
Train new team members on their job responsibilities.
Create a positive and respectful work environment that aligns with the company’s values.
Perform tasks safely and efficiently, just like the team you lead.
Fill in for the Production Manager when needed.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Able to operate machines quickly and efficiently while meeting production goals.
Can read simple instructions, short messages, and emails. Basic computer skills are also needed.
Works well with others in a team and helps everyone work together.
Open to changes that can help the company improve.
Strong communication skills, especially in talking to others and resolving conflicts professionally.
Able to inspire and encourage others, especially when learning new tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Must wear a uniform according to company dress code.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as needed.
Must be able to stand, sit, and walk up and down stairs throughout the day. May need to use a computer to track production.
The work environment may have extreme temperatures (hot, cold, humid) and dust.
May need to lift up to 75 pounds.
The noise level in the plant can be moderate to heavy.
Required Credentials:
High School diploma or GED.
Two to three years of related experience or training.
