The Store Manager reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Position Summary:
The primary function of the Store Manager is to manage the store operations and maintain director relationships. Through both these relationships, the Store Manager will enhance and develop their staff and drive school sales by securing rental and lease programs through our Partnership Promise: Increased Participation - Improved Instrumentation – Increased Retention. This will be accomplished by working in and out of the store, through regular school visits and at school events while demonstrating our Niche: Providing the Best Experience for Beginning Band & Orchestra Families.
The Store Manager is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality while living out our Passion: Inspiring Lives Through Instrumental Musical Experiences.
Responsibilities:
Management
1. Responsible for the employment life cycle of the employee, including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
2. Responsible for balancing the staffing needs of the store for regular hours, special events and high traffic times, while optimizing payroll and sales budgetary goals.
3. Maintains and motivates a positive sales team through communication and training programs.
4. Collaborates with other Store Managers to implement and maximize business strategies.
5. Knowledge and clear understanding of store’s financial budget to guide and control store and company profitability.
6. Accurately reviews and submits payroll information.
School Service
1. Develop, implement, and maintain a territory service plan for optimum efficiency, accountability, and profitability as per established goals.
2. Willingness to work cooperatively with Band Directors for the greater good of the company.
3. Maintains knowledge of market, competition, best practices, and trends.
4. Actively lead recruiting, rental, and retention programs in school accounts.
Retail
1. Acknowledge and assist all customers with their specific requests and needs.
2. Continuous learning about products and special promotions.
3. Responsible to work cooperatively with the sales team to meet or exceed weekly and monthly store sales goals.
4. Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
General
1. Employee is expected to be pleasant, courteous, and perform duties in a professional manner.
2. Constant knowledge of company policies and procedures.
3. Maintaining a high level of customer and employee satisfaction through delegated responsibilities.
4. May be required to work weekend hours, evening hours, and work rotating shifts.
5. Must be able to work under continuous stressful situations.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
1. Employee is often required to sit, stand, lift, use their fingers and hands, handle and feel.
2. Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use stairs, reach, balance, stoop and kneel.
3. Above average verbal and written skills.
4. Ability to handle all supplies to work independently.
5. Lift up to 50# - 10 % of the time
6. Employee is required to talk and to hear.
7. Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Basic Skills Required:
1. Strong Leadership, interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills.
2. Previous sales and sales management experience.
3. Basic computer skills, including but not limited to AIM and Microsoft Office.
4. Keyboard accurately.
