Vice President of MedComm Dispatching Services
The Vice President of MedComm Dispatching Services (VPMDS) is responsible for the coordination and operation of MedFlight’s dispatching center, MedComm, which also has contracted dispatching clients in addition to MedFlight. The VPMDS is responsible for ensuring MedComm operates in an efficient and effective manner. Working in this position involves planning, coordinating, and directing all aspects of MedComm operations, inclusive of collaborative efforts with supporting departments within the organization. This requires staying abreast of controlling laws, ordinances, and regulations that affect the operation of the organization.
Emphasis of this position is placed upon achieving items outlined in the Strategic Plan and for timely customer satisfaction, follow-up, consistency, and achievement of key performance indicators. Equal focus will also be placed on achieving financial objectives and adhering to the Mission, Vision and Values of the company. This position will be on call 24-hours a day and is held accountable for the success and continuous operations of MedComm.
This position is a member of the Executive Leadership team. The VPMDS is also required to participate in and attend regularly scheduled leadership meetings for all contracted clients, which may require onsite meeting attendance with each dispatching client.

1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and working towards a Master’s Degree preferred.
2. Completion of college level coursework in Business Management, EMS Management, or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
3. Minimum of eight years of senior EMS management/leadership experience in a system with EMS emergent and non-emergent transport (9-1-1 and inter-facility), wheelchair services and communications center responsibilities.
4. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
5. CMTE required within 2 years of hire.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of business and personnel management procedures, theories, and methods.
7. Knowledge of budgetary procedures including statistical research, management, and report production.
8. Comprehensive knowledge of emergency communications technology and equipment to include Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), radio, phone, applications and logging systems.
9. Comprehensive knowledge of the call-taking process for 9-1-1, emergent and scheduled calls-for-service related to air and ground services.
10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
11. Must be able to communicate clearly with public groups such as selected officials, civic groups, news media, and other committees dealing with the interests of the organization.
12. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
13. Ability to plan and supervise the work of others; good judgment, self-discipline and general courtesy and tact.
