Description

 **Salary Information - Starting Hourly Rate of $16.80** The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday from 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 


The Dealer Services Clerk provides payment and processing activities at a basic level of proficiency that support the Customer Service team, customer satisfaction, and engage our stakeholders. The incumbent contributes to the smooth operations of the Dealer Services area ensuring individual and department service levels meet or exceed established benchmarks and align with the Lee County Tax Collector 5-star service. 


Main Responsibilities

  • Properly files and logs dealer registrations, title work, and tax requests utilizing various Microsoft applications and the Smartlocker program. 
  • Provides guidance and assists dealers and business services with proper completion of drop-off title paperwork and use of the Smartlocker system. 
  • Performs Motor Vehicle data entry functions, verifies accuracy of data, and makes corrections as needed.
  • Monitors inventory of forms and supplies, replenishes supply at workstations, and initiates requests for additional supplies.
  • Prepares Motor Vehicle work for pick-up and drop-off via the Smartlocker system.  Multiple times per day, retrieves and replaces dealer and business service transactional work from the locker system for processing. 
  • Performs general clerical tasks and assignments which may include receiving, sorting, and distribution of mail to appropriate individuals or departments. Recording, scanning, and verification of paperwork as needed.
  • Reviews completed SmartSheets for tracking and data purposes. Initiates correction or reports discrepancies to management.
  • Communicates with other departments as needed.
  • Performs a wide variety of clerical duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and research techniques.
  • Ability to provide guidance and/or information to businesses and individuals. 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; supplemented by customer service and/or clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and valid Florida driver’s license required. 
  • 0-2 years of tax collector experience.

FLSA Status Description

Work is performed independently under limited supervision with considerable latitude. Position typically requires processing and interpreting complex, less clearly defined issues.


Work Conditions

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light to moderate physical effort in light work, but which will involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and material of medium to heavy weight (20-50 lbs.).  Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.


Sensory Requirements:  Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals, and to communicate orally and in writing.


Environmental Factors:  Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
