Description

Serves as the face of SVMIC in dedicated territory while initiating and cultivating prospects and key relationships essential to growing SVMIC’s policyholder base as well as servicing and retaining existing policyholders.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for growth goals for their assigned territory.
  • Initiate and cultivate prospects and key relationships essential to growing SVMIC’s policyholder base, turning prospects into policyholders.
  • Prepare quotes and proposals and develop and deliver effective presentations to individuals and groups of varying sizes.
  • Utilize all resources within the organization to demonstrate SVMIC’s value proposition to prospective policyholders.
  • Solicit referrals for new business through various mediums including calls, visits, referrals, social media, technology, etc.
  • Meet or exceed established monthly minimum goals for number of calls, meetings, and sales goals, Develop and effectively present presentations to individuals and groups of varying sizes.
  • Manage and maintain data and accounts in CRM including obtaining competitor filings quarterly and update comparisons in CRM.
  • Work collaboratively with Underwriting to provide the necessary information needed to provide prospective policyholders an accurate quote and to obtain accurate information during the application process.
  • Work with marketing to determine appropriate conferences and seminars to attend and appropriate marketing campaigns in assigned territory.
  • May begin to research and recommend new ideas in market to increase brand recognition.
  • Attend Underwriting committee meetings as required.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations, attending and actively participating in state and society meetings as required.
  • Effectively represent SVMIC at conferences and seminars as required.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Meet or exceed supervisor’s expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
  • Contribute to SVMIC’s success by identifying opportunities and making recommendations that may lead to improved processes.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance required.
  • Ability to work remotely as business needs dictate.
  • Available to travel by various means (this includes air travel), as business needs dictate Complete special projects and other duties assigned.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and recognize when and how to effectively collaborate with others.
  • Excellent public speaking and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite of Products, Outlook Word,  Excel, and a variety of software programs.
  • Highly focused with excellent analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple, complex projects.
  • Ability to research, read, comprehend, analyze, apply, and distill large amounts of complex information into useful tools, presentations, and/or conversations. 
Requirements
  • Must reside in the state of Texas.
  • Travel regionally (within North Texas) 3/week.
  • Quarterly travel to corporate in Nashville, TN for 2 days.
  • Periodically attendance at conferences and trade shows.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and a variety of software programs.

Education 

  •  Associate Degree equivalent combination of education and specialized training required.
  •  Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.S.) or equivalent combination of education and specialized training preferred. 

  

Relevant Experience Required 

  • Minimum 5 years of sales, customer service/account management experience.
  •  General or professional medical liability insurance customer service/account management experience preferred and thorough understanding of MPL insurance industry terminology is required. 

  

Licenses and Professional Designations

  • Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE)/Associate in General Insurance a plus.
  • Appropriate licensure in assigned jurisdictions maintained in good standing. Obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • A valid Driver’s  License is required.
