POSITION PURPOSE:


Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Technician maintains company machines, building and grounds by performing preventive and corrective maintenance as directed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform general maintenance to maintain structures, electrical, heating and cooling systems and plumbing
  • Repair or replace parts on mechanical equipment such as all production machines (screw, cut off, CNC and drill presses
  • Repair building, construct bins, shop benches, partitions, make crates, repair and replace electrical switches and small motors, controls, replace fuses and lighting equipment and put in drop cords
  • Perform corrective maintenance as directed by Maintenance Team Leader

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Control inventory of repair and replacement parts
  • Maintain preventative maintenance throughout plant per generated schedule to include all paperwork and document maintenance
  • Assist with all phases of production work when time is available
  • Janitorial responsibilities for plant and office area
  • Repair forklifts and maintain to ensure safe operational manner
  • Basic knowledge of various trade fundamentals sufficient to deal with general repairs to include; electrical (including three phase wiring 240 and 480), hydraulics, carpentry, plumbing, welding and fabricating
  • Knowledge of proximity, micro switches, encoders, survo motors, motors starters and transformers
  • Must be quality conscious and continuously look for quality improvements

REQUIREMENTS:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

  • High School Diploma and minimum 2-year technical degree in manufacturing maintenance area or equivalent combination
  • 1-2 years previous manufacturing maintenance background preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to speak, read, write, address groups and individuals, train and mentor, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, in English
  • Exhibit core values of care, honesty, integrity, respect and responsibility
  • Ability to pull, push and/or lift up to 70 pounds in a safe manner
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment and perform all assignments in a safe manner
  • Read, write and interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, blueprint, diagram and schedule form (English)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of activities and multi-task
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle, touch and feel tools, equipment and controls
  • Vision requirements include (corrective or non) close range, distance, color, peripheral, depth and focus
  • Ability to understand and comply with all company, safety and quality policies and procedures
