Sous Chef
Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining standards, and leading the team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.
  • Oversee kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and quality in food production.
  • Maintain inventory, order supplies, control food costs to minimize waste and control labor costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
  • Step in as acting Head Chef when needed, handling line cooking and expediting orders.
  • Work with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and service.
  • Innovate and introduce new dishes, improving the overall dining experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a professional kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure environments with a calm, solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Creativity in menu development and presentation.
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (preferred).
