Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining standards, and leading the team in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.
- Oversee kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and quality in food production.
- Maintain inventory, order supplies, control food costs to minimize waste and control labor costs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Step in as acting Head Chef when needed, handling line cooking and expediting orders.
- Work with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and service.
- Innovate and introduce new dishes, improving the overall dining experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to handle high-pressure environments with a calm, solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Creativity in menu development and presentation.
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (preferred).
