Position Summary 

The Breast Imaging Supervisor serves as the technical expert and point person for daily operations, which includes direct oversight of mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and support services associated with breast imaging. 


Essential Job Responsibilities 

  • Reports to the senior manager and works directly with the director of women's imaging, modality supervisors, and service supervisor in planning service, staffing and technology. 
  • Provides daily leadership and supervision within the breast imaging department and maintains oversight and responsibility for each location where breast imaging is performed. 
  • Maintain a constant state of readiness and compliance with MQSA, ACR, IAC and all regulatory requirements. 
  • Detailed knowledge of workflows for breast imaging protocols and implementation of operating procedures and department specific policy across modalities to ensure high-level of services for breast imaging. 
  • Provide workflow analysis and changes as needed or required to meet service, budget expectations, and improved safety for patients and staff. 
  • Responsible for performance improvement, patient experience, and all regulatory requirements for mammography and with other modalities as required.  
  • Evaluates and makes purchasing recommendations for equipment, as well as assuring appropriate medical supplies are available for services provided in breast imaging. 
  • Provides direct communication with breast imaging radiologists to ensure superior patient care and services. 
  • Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested. 
  • Provides implementation and education of best practices at all locations providing breast imaging services. 
Requirements

Required: Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology or equivalent hospital-based program. 

Required: Current ARRT and state of Florida license to practice medical radiography. 

Required: ARRT registered with advanced level certification in mammography 

Required: CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.  

Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory experience in mammography department
