CNC OPERATOR (SECOND SHIFT)

Chandler Industries is seeking talented individuals to join our team at our new facility in Wyoming.


• Second Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 1:00am (shift differential)


Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of Machine Operator experience and or a CNC Machine Technology Certificate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to perform one or more machine functions on a variety of material to produce parts and components.
  • Review order, control plan, router, job traveler, inspection instructions to determine sequencing, finished work-piece dimensions, and numerical control sequences.
  • Load and unload workpieces.
  • Performs work-piece inspection checking accuracy against blueprints/specifications using basic gaging techniques for product conformity.
  • Perform surface finish operations by sanding and deburring.
  • Monitor workpieces and equipment throughout the machining process to detect issues.
  • Ensures coolant and hydraulic oil levels are maintained and changed as required. Performs routine PM checks.  
  • Performs inventory material handling including retrieving, moving and storage of material, tooling, and workpieces.  
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe environment and maintains 5 “S” standards. Complies with safety rules including PPE and OSHA standards.  
  • Participates in Lean initiatives eliminating wastes including overproduction, defects, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion, and over-processing.  
  • Ability to utilize ERP system for data collection, time and attendance.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires at least 1 year of Machine Operator experience or CNC Machine Technology certificate.
  • Basic math skills (i.e., addition, subtraction, decimals, etc.).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language.
  • Ability to learn basic blueprint reading.
  • Ability to learn basic inspection skills.
  • Willingness to learn. 
  • Punctual and good attendance.
  • Cooperative attitude, shares critical information, and remains professional in difficult situations.  
  • Willingness to learn. Will ask for help when needed.
  • Works independently with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to pass annual visual exam (20-20, corrected, uncorrected, one eye).
  • Ability to learn basic machine axis.
  • Ability to operate multiple machines.
  • Can perform basic set-up and adjust off-sets if required.

Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred or helpful)

  • Experience in general manufacturing role.
  • CNC Machine Technology or related certification.
