We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounts Payable Manager to lead and oversee the accounts payable functions for our expanding automotive group. This role requires managing the daily accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor relationships, while ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounts payable management, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 


Compensation: $90,000-$100,000/year 


Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounts payable functions, including invoice receipt, approval, and payment processing for multiple locations within the dealership group. Ensure all payments are made on time and accurately in accordance with company policies. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring prompt resolution of any payment issues, disputes, or inquiries. 
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable cash flow, ensuring that payments are scheduled appropriately and in line with the company’s liquidity requirements. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax and regulatory requirements, including maintaining proper documentation for all payments. Prepare and submit necessary reports for internal use and external tax filings. 
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all accounts payable transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in the financial statements. 
  • Regularly reconcile accounts payable-related accounts, such as vendor accounts, credit card statements, and other related financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 
  • Review and improve accounts payable processes and policies to enhance efficiency, ensure proper internal controls, and reduce processing time. Implement best practices for accounts payable management. 
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of accounts payable professionals. Provide guidance and support to team members in their day-to-day tasks, helping to improve their skills and performance. 
  • Work closely with other departments such as purchasing, inventory, and operations to ensure that invoices are properly approved and match purchase orders or receipts before processing payments. 
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on accounts payable activity, including cash flow projections, aging reports, and other financial analysis as required by management. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, with at least 3 years in an Accounts Payable Manager role or similar supervisory position. 
  • Dealership Experience is preferred. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing, payment terms, vendor management, and reconciliations. 
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, PivotTables). 
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles related to accounts payable. 
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a focus on resolving issues and promoting collaboration between departments.
