siffron Benefits: 

The salary range for this role is $59,740. to $110,000. Siffron considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

We are currently seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team. JOB SUMMARY


The Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing and CI projects, and metrics. They will troubleshoot, analyze, and support automation. This position will proactively provide data on processes that will drive cost reductions.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plastics process engineering role
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost- effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows and streamline operations, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Programming and troubleshooting automation.
  • Generate and maintain a database for manufacturing rates at key processes that allow Project Managers to expedite the quoting process and allow mfg. team to act on areas of improvement.
  • Submit ECR’s for any variances requiring any variances in manufacturing processes and/or machine capabilities.
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment in response to new product developments, Engineering Change Orders, or continuous improvement activities.
  • Develops project documentation including specifications, work instructions, validation, routings and feasibility reports and performance studies.
  • Performs product / process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency.
  • Initiate and successfully complete projects resulting in the ongoing improvement of key QOS metrics related to Quality, Safety, Delivery and Cost
  • Responsible for daily production support including initiating Engineering Change Requests for process changes, and participating in cross functional problem-solving teams when responding to Internal or External/Customer issues/concerns.
  • Develop product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of Siffron which includes following the policies and procedures.

  • Performance measures will be tied to a performance plan that is driven by the siffron goals.
  • QOS metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Track and improve OEE and basic efficiency.
  • Compliance with company policies (i.e. Safety, Attendance, etc.)

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Regular attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial or Plastics preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a plastics production environment. Proven track record of accomplishments.
  • Background in lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methods or programs preferred.
  • A proven track record of solving challenging problems.
  • Strong computer skills; including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Functional and HANDS ON process engineering experience within polymer extrusion and injection molding processes
  • CAD experience
  • Capital Project writeup and justification experience.
